One stop information for graduation

The end of the semester is in sight, and so is the end of an era at Delta College for graduating students. This year’s commencement ceremony is taking place April 28 at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium. Following the ceremony, there will be light refreshments in the commons near Red Brix for graduates and faculty, as well as family and friends.

Caps and gowns will be distributed at Delta’s bookstore until April 28 at 5:45 p.m. The signature Delta-green gowns are made from recycled plastic bottles, making them environmentally green as well. The price of cap, gown and tassel is approximately $30. If you already have access to a cap and gown, but still want to walk in the ceremony, there is a participation roster located in the Delta bookstore that needs to be signed. For Phi Theta Kappa members, stoles, cords and tassels are available for sale at www.phithetakappa.org.

Students walking in the commencement ceremony are required to register in the main hallway by the G-wing between 5 and 5:15 p.m. on April 28. At check in, students will be given a card with their name and degree or certificate that will be read on stage. Honors cords will also be issued at check in for those with a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Each student walking in the ceremony is issued five guest tickets for seating in the gymnasium. Tickets will be given out once students purchase their gown or sign the participation form in the bookstore. There will also be additional seating free of charge in the lecture theater where the ceremony will be broadcast live. Visitors should arrive after 5 p.m., but before 5:45 p.m., when doors close.

Diplomas and certificates will be mailed to students approximately a month after the completion of your degree. Graduate copy transcripts will also be included with the diploma.
